I found a speech recognition module on this website: http://www.veear.eu/Products/EasyVR.aspx
It is cheaper and works very well (also for speaker independent words in italian). Based on the SENSORY RSC-4128 chip (http://www.sensoryinc.com/products/RSC-4x_series.html) this module is suitable for a wide range of applications (robotics, home-automation, consumer, etc...).
I only tested it with a PC connection (through an RS232 connection) and trained some words and sounds getting amazing results. In the near future I plan to start writing drivers for openpicus.

Very nice hit! It should be a great addon for the openPICUS modules! :D

that's very cool Flavio, we just received a few request about this. People want to interface their home automation (based on Flyport) with voice. Maybe a good idea for a new nest!
Hi flavio05,
If you have any news about your work on the voice recognition module, I would be happy to read it as I'm interrested to integrate it in one of my future projects.
Here is working with Flyport http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYgKWrUljtQ - great no?

hi all

if you want to connect the easyvr module to the flyport use this API
with PPS (peripheral pin select) you can connect the wires where you want
Thanks!
If it's possible can you post also a code sample (flyport) with a configuration like in the youtube video?
